Recognition and Honor
Dr. Th. Dhabali Singh is a recipient of the following major Awards and recognitions, among others:
1. The Indian Chamber of Commerce awarded the “Northeast Excellence Award 2010” in collaboration with the DoNER Ministry.
2. “NEDFi Award-2015 and 2022” awarded by North Eastern Development Finance Corporation, Guwahati, recognising his entrepreneurial skill.
3. 2020 Spring Decoration, “Order of the Rising Sun – Gold & Silver Rays” awarded by the Government of Japan for his contribution to establishing the Imphal Peace Museum and the India-Japan relationship.
4. The Department of Tourism, Government of Manipur, presented the “Certificate of Appreciation” in 2024 for Dr. Dhabali’s significant role in developing the hospitality and tourism sectors in the state.
5. The MTTS, Chennai and the Indian Institution of Information Technology (IIIT), Manipur, presented the “Life Time Achievement Award”, recognising his entrepreneurial skills, on 9th August 2025.
6. The Governor’s Best Entrepreneur Award 2025, conferred by the All Manipur Entrepreneurs Association in collaboration with the Government of Manipur, acknowledges his dedication and steadfast commitment to excellence in entrepreneurship.
Dr. Dhabali, the founding president of the “Manipur Tourism Forum,” played a leadership role in orchestrating a series of commemorative events for the Battle of Imphal, World War II. These events were attended by delegates from Japan, the United Kingdom, and Australia, including officials and diplomats representing various embassies and consulates. Additionally, he served as the chairman of the construction committee for the “Imphal Peace Museum,” which was funded by the Nippon Foundation with support from the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, the Government of Manipur, and the Embassy of Japan. The museum was completed and officially inaugurated in June 2019.
